Founded in 2022, the collaborative partnership between German sportswear giant Adidas and Montreal-based design studio JJJJound merges athletic heritage with digital-age minimalism. Led by Justin Saunders, a former tastemaker of the blog era whose curatorial eye defined the "mood board" aesthetic, the collaboration reimagines iconic silhouettes like the Samba and Superstar through a lens of restraint and premium utility. Rather than altering the fundamental DNA of these classics, the partnership elevates them with subtle, high-spec adjustments—sourcing premium leathers, utilizing Scheinfeld, Germany production facilities for select releases, and employing a palette of sophisticated neutrals like mesa, off-white, and core black.
