Adidas x Recouture is the collaborative union between the German sportswear giant and Shun Hirose’s Tokyo-based sneaker repair atelier, Recouture. Emerging from Hirose’s background as a cobbler who began customizing shoes by grafting Vibram soles onto classic sneakers, the partnership translates the raw, industrial energy of the repair shop into official product releases. The collaboration is defined by its "mistake" aesthetic—a deliberate design code where elements like suede uppers extend erratically onto the midsole, mimicking the look of a shoe in the midst of being resoled or reconstructed.
