Founded in 2003 by Catalina Álvarez and Mariana Hinestroza in Medellín, Agua Bendita began when the two fashion design students started creating handmade swimsuits from leftover fabrics. The brand is distinguished by its vibrant, maximalist aesthetic, drawing inspiration from Colombia's rich biodiversity and cultural heritage. Its signature is the intricate, hand-drawn prints and detailed embroidery, meticulously crafted by hundreds of female artisans in Colombia, many of whom are single mothers who work from home.
