Born in London and of Syrian-Lebanese descent, Alya Tannous launched her eponymous homeware brand in 2009 after opening her Beirut boutique, Interiors by Alya Tannous. A former theater and literature student who worked at Christian Lacroix, Tannous brings a dramatic, narrative-driven approach to her craft. Her fascination with glassblowing began during a trip to Egypt with her mother, interior designer Lina Tannous, inspiring her to revive the ancient technique through a contemporary lens.
