Founded in 2014 in San Francisco by industrial designer Shujan Bertrand, Aplat is a culinary and lifestyle brand rooted in the French art de vivre and zero-waste design principles. Bertrand, drawing from her Korean heritage and experiences with her husband's family in France, created the brand to elevate the daily rituals of sharing food and wine. Aplat is defined by its signature origami-inspired construction, which utilizes the golden ratio to engineer functional carriers without the need for zippers, elastic, or plastic hardware.
