Founded in 2018 by self-taught pattern maker Mark Smith Clarke, archie is a New York-based menswear label rooted in quiet routine and practical evaluation. Named after Clarke's grandfather, the brand began as an after-hours hobby and has evolved into a thoughtful, small-batch project. Clarke handles pattern making, fabric sourcing, and lookbook photography from his Bedford-Stuyvesant studio, while production is executed by a family-owned factory in New York's Garment District.
