Founded in 2001 by Delhi-born, London-based designer Ashish Gupta, the Ashish label is celebrated for its exuberant mix of high-octane glamour and sportswear influences. After Gupta, a Central Saint Martins graduate, had his portfolio stolen in Paris, he began creating pieces for friends, leading to a discovery by Browns and his first order. The brand is defined by its meticulous, hand-sewn sequin work and intricate embroidery, all completed by a dedicated team of artisans in India. This fusion of Indian craftsmanship with a Western pop sensibility creates a signature aesthetic that is both playful and political.
