Founded by Alex Begg in Paisley, Scotland, in 1866, Begg & Co is a luxury brand built on over 150 years of weaving expertise. Now based in Ayr and Hawick, the company specializes in exquisitely crafted cashmere, silk, and wool accessories, knitwear, and homewares. Initially a producer of paisley shawls, the brand has evolved from a private-label manufacturer for the world’s most prestigious fashion houses into a recognized label in its own right. The recent rebranding from Begg & Co to Begg x Co signals a more contemporary direction, which was further solidified with the appointment of Vanessa Seward as creative director in 2025.
