Tessitura Luigi Bevilacqua is one of the last remaining traditional weaving workshops in Venice, with a family history in textiles dating to 1499. Officially founded by Luigi Bevilacqua in 1875, the company revived the city’s legendary silk-weaving heritage by salvaging and restoring antique looms from the historic Silk Guild of the Republic of Venice. Today, the house is celebrated for its opulent, hand-woven fabrics, particularly the soprarizzo velvet—a complex, double-piled textile that can only be produced by hand, with artisans weaving just a few centimeters per day. These fabrics are not merely materials but works of art, featuring intricate patterns drawn from a historical archive of over 3,500 designs.
