Founded in 1993 by sisters Amy and Katie Carson, Bitters Co. is a Washington-based design studio dedicated to sustaining global cultural heritage through functional home goods. Raised traveling the world, the founders—who studied cultural anthropology and architecture—apply their deep appreciation for traditional craft to a curated line of artisanal decor. Originally launched as a Seattle retail store, the brand now operates out of a 1920s barn in the Skagit Valley, championing a “Transparent Direct” philosophy. This approach allows the founders to work closely with multi-generational family producers in Mexico, Guatemala, and Portugal, ensuring that every piece honors the human hand.
