Founded in 2007 in San Francisco by Michael "Mega" Yabut and Alfred De Tagle, Black Scale emerged as a darker, more provocative alternative to the brightly colored streetwear of the era. Rooted in themes of religion, government, identity, and death, the brand initially launched with a capsule of four graphic t-shirts out of the legendary HUF boutique. Black Scale quickly gained traction for its avant-garde, monochromatic aesthetic, blending streetwear fundamentals with a mysterious, esoteric edge.
