Founded in 2013 by Nancy Twine, a former finance executive, Briogeo emerged from a personal mission to create transparent, high-performance hair care. Inspired by the homemade beauty recipes she and her mother, a doctor and chemist, would create, Twine developed a brand focused on clean, naturally-derived ingredients. Briogeo, whose name combines the Italian word for vibrant (“brio”) and the Greek word for earth (“geo”), was built to cater to all hair types and textures, moving away from segregated product aisles. The brand’s “6-Free” commitment means its formulas are made without harsh sulfates, silicones, parabens, phthalates, DEA, or artificial dyes, a philosophy that quickly positioned it as a leader in the clean beauty movement.
