Founded in 1945 by Carmen de Tommaso, Carven was established with a democratic vision of Parisian fashion, creating elegant, ready-to-wear for petite women—a market largely overlooked by haute couture at the time. Known for its fresh, joyful, and slightly playful approach, the house quickly became a reference for its signature green-and-white stripes and designs that captured a post-war spirit of freedom. After Madame Carven's retirement in 1993, the brand entered a quieter period until its successful relaunch in 2009 under the creative direction of Guillaume Henry. Henry revived Carven, transforming it into a critically lauded contemporary label that resonated with a younger, fashion-forward audience through its quirky yet sophisticated tailoring and feminine silhouettes.
