Founded in 1993 in Western Australia by former model and ballet dancer Claire Metcalf and her husband Gavin Eddy, C.DESIGN is an iconic swimwear label rooted in 90s minimalism. Metcalf’s background in ballet directly informed the brand’s core principles of sculpture and foundational balance. The brand quickly gained global recognition, favored by supermodels like Gisele Bündchen and Elle Macpherson, and stocked in prestigious department stores such as Saks Fifth Avenue and Selfridges. After a quieter period when the founders closed the business in the early 2000s to raise their family, C.DESIGN was reimagined and relaunched in 2023 with the involvement of their three children.
