Founded in 2018 by former hip-hop artist Cedric Mitchell, Cedric Mitchell Design is a Los Angeles-based studio that merges traditional glassblowing with contemporary cultural narratives. Mitchell, who discovered the craft while recording in a Tulsa music studio, has developed a signature aesthetic he calls "Modern Funk." This design language draws heavily from 1990s hip-hop, graffiti, and the bold, playful geometry of the Memphis Group. The studio’s core offerings include vibrant, hand-blown drinkware, sculptural vessels, and lighting, all characterized by striking color combinations and off-center, exaggerated forms.
