Joseph Cheaney & Sons has been handcrafting traditional English shoes in Desborough, Northamptonshire, since 1886. For its first 80 years, the company produced shoes exclusively for other retailers before launching its own branded line in 1967. Today, under the ownership of cousins Jonathan and William Church, whose family has a five-generation history in shoemaking, Cheaney remains committed to producing footwear entirely in its original factory. The brand is one of the few remaining English shoemakers that handles every step of production in-house, from cutting the leather to the final polishing. This process involves over 160 individual stages and takes approximately eight weeks to complete.
