Founded in Munich by master watchmaker Gerd-Rüdiger Lang in 1983, Chronoswiss was a defiant stand for mechanical horology during the height of the Quartz Crisis. Lang, a veteran of Heuer, established the brand's identity by championing the nearly forgotten regulator-style display, where hours, minutes, and seconds are indicated on separate subdials. This complication, along with signature design codes like the oversized onion crown, fluted bezel, and exhibition caseback, defined the brand's unique character. The launch of the Régulateur in 1987 was a landmark, establishing the world's first serially produced regulator wristwatch and cementing the brand's legacy.
