Founded in 1982 by Daniel Day in Harlem, New York, Dapper Dan (often referred to as DAP) is a pioneering fashion brand that bridged the gap between high luxury and street culture. A former professional gambler and visionary tailor, Day recognized a demand for luxury aesthetics within his community that traditional European houses were ignoring. He began creating custom, made-to-order garments using unauthorized luxury logos from brands like Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Fendi, applying them to streetwear silhouettes like tracksuits, bomber jackets, and tailored furs.
