D.A.T.E. was founded in 2005 after four friends—Damiano, Alessandro, Tommaso, and Emiliano—met in London and decided to create their own sneaker brand. The name itself is an acronym of their first names. Drawing on their collective backgrounds in shoemaking, marketing, and design, the founders launched their first collection in 2006 at Pitti Immagine Uomo, where their artisan-inspired designs quickly found success, selling over 8,000 pairs in three days. Though conceived in London, the brand's soul is distinctly Italian, with design and development centered in Tuscany, a region celebrated for its leather and fabric traditions.
