Launched in 2019 by founder Salvo Rizza, a designer with experience at Giambattista Valli, Des Phemmes is an Italian womenswear brand built on a “balanced imbalance.” The name, a playful take on the French *femmes*, translates to “about women,” reflecting its mission to merge the world of couture craftsmanship with the ease of everyday life. The brand is defined by its transformation of simple shapes—like t-shirts, denim, and slip dresses—into ornate pieces through meticulous, hand-applied surface decoration. Intricate embroidery, crystals, and sequins are central to the design, with some embellishments taking up to three days to complete, all produced by artisans in Italy.
