Founded in 1988 in South Africa by Hans Bonatz, Disc-O-Bed was born from a desire to create a space-saving, stackable sleeping solution for the outdoors. The brand’s signature innovation—a patented interlocking disc system—allows its cots to be securely bunked without tools, adapting to uneven terrain and maximizing limited space. Originally embraced by outdoor enthusiasts, the brand found its true calling in emergency relief and military deployment, providing 15,000 bunks to the German Red Cross in 1999 and later becoming a staple for the U.S. military. This prompted a relocation to Atlanta, Georgia, in 2004 to establish American manufacturing partnerships.
