discos musart

Founded in 1948 in Mexico City by Eduardo Baptista Covarrubias, a recording industry veteran, Discos Musart is a cornerstone of the Mexican music industry. The independent record label was established to champion regional Mexican music, building an extensive catalog that spans mariachi, ranchera, norteño, corridos, and banda. In its early decades, Musart not only preserved traditional Mexican sounds but also served as the local distributor for international acts, famously releasing early Beatles records in Mexico before Capitol Records established its own operations. The label's cultural significance is anchored in its roster of legendary artists, including Antonio Aguilar, Joan Sebastian, Chalino Sánchez, and Paquita la del Barrio.
