Founded in 2012 by designer Masayuki Ino, Doublet is a Tokyo-based label that injects a sense of strangeness and humor into daily wear. After honing his skills as a shoe and accessory designer for Mihara Yasuhiro, Ino launched the brand to explore ready-to-wear with a rebellious and playful spirit. The brand’s core philosophy is built on subverting familiar garments, transforming basics like hoodies, t-shirts, and sneakers with unexpected materials, exaggerated silhouettes, and interactive elements, such as t-shirts compressed into instant noodle cups. This unique approach to fashion as an experience quickly garnered critical acclaim, culminating in Ino becoming the first Japanese designer to win the prestigious LVMH Prize in 2018.
