Drakkar Noir is a legendary men's fragrance by the French fashion house Guy Laroche, first introduced in 1982. Created by perfumer Pierre Wargnye, the scent was conceived as a tribute to the strength and courage of Vikings, with its name referencing their longships. It quickly became a cultural phenomenon in the 1980s and '90s, defining an era of bold, unapologetic masculinity with its "Feel the Power" tagline. The fragrance is an aromatic fougère, a complex and potent blend of fresh, spicy, and woody notes. It opens with a sharp burst of lavender, lemon, bergamot, and mint, which then settles into a heart of juniper, cinnamon, and coriander before drying down to a deep base of leather, oakmoss, fir, and cedar.
