Founded in Milan in 1995 by Canadian identical twin brothers Dean and Dan Caten, Dsquared2 merges North American iconography with sophisticated Italian craftsmanship. After a brief stint at Parsons and working for brands like Versace and Diesel, the Catens launched their own label, which gained international fame after designing for Madonna’s “Don't Tell Me” music video and her 2001 world tour. The brand’s philosophy is built on a playful and edgy fusion of contrasts: sporty with glamorous, laid-back with extravagant, and masculine with feminine. This approach results in a distinctive concept of “alternative luxury” that has become its signature.
