Duran Lantink is a Dutch designer who has carved a unique niche in the fashion industry with his subversive and sustainable approach to clothing. Since officially founding his label in 2019, the Amsterdam-based designer has become known for deconstructing and collaging existing garments—often the unsold deadstock from luxury brands—into entirely new, one-of-a-kind creations. Lantink’s work first gained global notoriety in 2018 when he designed the iconic “vagina pants” for Janelle Monáe’s “Pynk” music video, a moment that encapsulated his playful, provocative, and political design language. His method is a direct challenge to the fashion system's wastefulness, repurposing materials from brands like Prada, Balenciaga, and Gucci to craft what he calls “fashion Frankensteins.”
