Epara Skincare was founded in 2017 by Ozohu Adoh, a Nigerian-born entrepreneur based in the UK. After struggling with a personal skin condition and finding no suitable products on the market, Adoh began researching the potent African botanicals from her heritage. This led her to develop her own formulas, which she refined with a UK-based lab to create a scientifically-backed, luxury skincare line. The name Epara means “to cocoon oneself” in the Nigerian dialect of Ebira, reflecting the brand's mission to envelop skin in nourishing, protective care.
