Founded in Vicenza, Italy, in 1966, Bottega Veneta established a unique space in luxury with its motto, “When your own initials are enough.” The brand’s identity is rooted in its signature Intrecciato technique—a method of hand-weaving leather that creates a durable, supple, and instantly recognizable pattern without the need for a logo. This philosophy of discreet, craft-centered luxury guided the house through its early success. After a period of decline in the 1990s from straying into trend-driven logomania, the brand was acquired by Kering in 2001 and revitalized under creative director Tomas Maier, who returned the focus to its artisanal heritage.
