Launched in the Netherlands in 2002 by entrepreneur Alex Bergman, Fatboy transformed a simple beanbag into a global lifestyle icon. The journey began with a beanbag designed in 1998 by Finnish designer Jukka Setälä, who named it in honor of the musician Fatboy Slim. Bergman acquired the rights and built a brand around its playful, relaxed character, expanding the collection far beyond the original hero product. Today, under the philosophy “Design with a Smile,” Fatboy creates a wide range of durable and colorful indoor and outdoor furniture, distinctive lighting like the Edison lamp, and clever accessories such as the inflatable Lamzac.
