Founded in 2021 by self-taught woodturner Felix Votteler in Tübingen, Germany, the eponymous studio creates delicate, sculptural wooden objects that sit at the intersection of craft, art, and memory culture. Votteler, who grew up around his father’s carpentry business, works exclusively with fresh, green wood sourced from locally and sustainably felled trees. Rather than forcing the material into rigid shapes, he embraces the natural warping and shifting that occurs as the wood dries, allowing the material’s inherent tensions to dictate the final form.
