Founded in 2017 by a collective of influential surfers and skateboarders including Dane Reynolds, Craig Anderson, and Austyn Gillette, Former is an independently owned and operated apparel company. The brand was born from a desire to break away from the constraints of traditional corporate sponsorships and create clothing that the founders themselves wanted to wear and support. With the late Dylan Rieder also being a key part of its inception, Former is rooted in an authentic, anti-establishment culture that merges the worlds of surf and skate.
