Founded by multifaceted artist Piero Fornasetti in Milan in the 1940s, Fornasetti is a design atelier celebrated for bringing art into everyday life. The brand’s visual language is unmistakable, defined by surreal, black-and-white graphic prints, architectural trompe l'oeil, and a deep connection to classicism and whimsy. A defining moment came from Piero Fornasetti's collaboration with architect Gio Ponti, which translated his artistic motifs onto furniture and decorative objects, establishing the house's signature style. The most iconic motif is the face of 19th-century opera singer Lina Cavalieri, which Piero discovered in a magazine and subsequently reimagined in over 500 variations in the “Tema e Variazioni” series.
