futagami

Founded in 1897 in Takaoka, Toyama Prefecture, Futagami began as a traditional manufacturer of brass Buddhist altar fittings. In 2009, the historic foundry collaborated with designer Masanori Oji to launch a contemporary livingware brand, breathing new life into its century-old casting techniques. The brand is celebrated for its unpainted, solid brass objects that retain the rough ihada (cast surface) texture of the sand mold, allowing each piece to develop a rich, personalized patina over time.
