Founded in 2017 by artist and designer Josué Thomas, Gallery Dept. is a Los Angeles-based brand that redefines luxury streetwear by treating clothing as a creative canvas. Operating under the philosophy "collaborate, create, rebel," the brand began by deconstructing and reimagining vintage garments, most notably Levi's 501s and Carhartt pants, into new, one-of-a-kind pieces. Thomas, who previously worked at Ralph Lauren, channels his background as an artist to infuse each item with a distinct, hand-finished quality, often featuring signature paint splatters, distressing, and flared silhouettes that challenge conventional aesthetics.
