Launched in 2021, General Scale is a sustainable footwear project by Japanese designer Mihara Yasuhiro, known for his subtly distorted and unconventional approach to design. Rooted in a desire to recreate the beauty of a bygone era, the brand was sparked by a pair of vintage combat boots that could no longer be worn due to age. This inspired the creation of the signature "PAST sole," an entirely new vintage-style sole that authentically recreates the texture of worn-down heels and decayed rubber while reviving them for modern wear.
