Founded in 1914 by Eugène Meylan in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland, Glycine is a historic Swiss watchmaker deeply rooted in aviation and military heritage. Meylan, an uncompromising watch engineer, initially focused on miniature movements before shifting toward robust, functional timepieces. The brand’s defining moment arrived in 1953 with the introduction of the Airman, the first watch capable of tracking two 24-hour time zones. Developed at the request of a British pilot, the Airman became an essential tool for commercial aviators and military personnel, famously worn by US Air Force pilots during the Vietnam War and by astronaut Pete Conrad during the Gemini 5 spaceflight.
