Founded in 2016 by designer Serhat Isik and photographer Benjamin Alexander Huseby, GmbH emerged from Berlin’s underground club scene as a fashion collective with a distinct political and cultural voice. The brand, whose name is the German acronym for a limited liability company, was created to explore themes of community and the founders’ own experiences as children of immigrants in Europe. Drawing inspiration from Berlin's brutalist architecture, techno culture, and traditional workwear, GmbH’s designs are both protective and sensual. Signature pieces often include technical PVC trousers, tailored jackets with sharp, protective silhouettes, and form-fitting tops that play with transparency and cut-outs. The collections are a direct reflection of the founders' heritage, incorporating Middle Eastern and South Asian references through motifs and garment shapes.
