Founded in a Ventura, California garage in 1982 by climber Mike Graham, Gramicci emerged from the rebellious Yosemite climbing scene of the 1970s. As part of the free-spirited Stonemasters crew, Graham designed the first true climbing shorts and trousers, solving the need for apparel that offered complete freedom of movement. The brand’s most iconic innovations—the diamond-shaped gusseted crotch for 180-degree flexibility and an integrated nylon belt for one-handed adjustment—defined its signature G-Pants and G-Shorts. These features, born from practical necessity on the rock face, created a distinct aesthetic that was quickly embraced beyond climbing by surfers, skaters, and the burgeoning streetwear scene in Tokyo.
