Founded in Paris in 1957 by the former milliner and Jean Dessès-protégé Guy Laroche, the eponymous house was built on a vision of liberating women’s fashion. Laroche introduced a style of understated yet confident elegance, moving away from the rigid New Look toward comfortable, practical, and refined designs. The brand quickly became known for its masterful tailoring, vibrant color palettes, and signature creations like the versatile coat-dress and shirt-dress. Beyond its haute couture origins, the house expanded into ready-to-wear in 1961, menswear in 1966, and launched globally successful fragrances, including the iconic Fidji and the bestselling men's scent Drakkar Noir.
