Founded in 2012 in the Washington D.C. area by Anifa Mvuemba, a self-taught designer of Congolese descent, Hanifa has redefined contemporary luxury through its bold, curve-celebrating aesthetic. Mvuemba’s heritage deeply informs the brand’s cultural storytelling, most notably seen in the viral Pink Label Congo collection, which paid homage to Central African seamstresses and raised awareness about illegal coltan mining. The brand is celebrated for its vibrant color palettes, fluid fabrics, and structured silhouettes that intentionally honor the female form across a highly inclusive size range (0–20).
