Founded in a Manhattan apartment in 1981 by the husband-and-wife team BJ and Bill Gedney, Hat Attack was born from a passion for creating modern yet timeless accessories. The brand quickly became known for its quality craftsmanship and accessible price point, expanding from its initial focus on hats to include a range of accessories like scarves, gloves, and bags. Now led by the founders' daughter, Cooper McManus, the company continues its family-led legacy from its headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut. Many of its hats are still made in the USA using traditional methods, including hand-blocking on carved wood forms that are part of the brand's heritage.
