Founded in 2017 in Seattle by Aaron Ambuske, a product developer with nearly two decades of experience at K2 Sports, HEST was created to bridge the gap between home comfort and outdoor gear. Frustrated by the shortcomings of traditional air mattresses—which often sacrifice support for packability—Ambuske engineered a line of premium sleep systems designed specifically for camping, overlanding, and van life. The brand’s signature approach combines temperature-resilient, CertiPUR-US certified memory foam with durable, outdoor-ready materials like drop-stitch bases and dirt-resistant stretch nylon.
