Founded by Italian designer Carlo Crocco in Switzerland in 1980, Hublot launched with a then-radical concept: a gold watch on a natural rubber strap. This initial act of combining disparate materials established the brand’s guiding principle, “The Art of Fusion.” For years, Hublot remained a niche player until industry veteran Jean-Claude Biver took over as CEO in 2004, supercharging its founding philosophy. The 2005 launch of the Big Bang chronograph, with its bold, multi-layered case construction and fusion of materials like ceramic, titanium, and carbon fiber, catapulted Hublot to global fame and led to its acquisition by LVMH in 2008.
