Launched in Milan in 2011 by partners Mario Pastorini and Carla Bottoni, In The Box began with the idea of elevating socks from a mere accessory to the focal point of an outfit. With a shared background in fashion, the founders built the brand as an evolving container of creativity, starting with high-quality socks and expanding into apparel. The brand’s designs are heavily influenced by Pastorini's love for American and Japanese vintage and second-hand styles, fused with Bottoni's passion for street culture and old-school R&B music. Preppy icons like John F. Kennedy and Western and Navajo cultural imagery also inform the creative direction.
