Founded in 2018 in Middleton, Idaho, by backcountry hunters Joe Elliston and Dennis Stokes, Initial Ascent was born from a desire to engineer a pack system capable of comfortably hauling extreme weight. The brand’s signature innovation is its Integrous frame, constructed from triaxial woven carbon fiber to provide an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio. Designed with a wider, wedge-like shape that follows the spine’s natural curvature, the frame centers heavy loads over the hips to minimize shoulder fatigue during demanding hunts.
