Founded in 2024 by Georgian-born designer Galib Gassanoff, Institution is a Milan-based fashion label positioned as a socio-artistic project. After departing his previous brand, Act N°1, Gassanoff launched Institution to explore his Azerbaijani cultural heritage through a contemporary design framework. The brand is defined by its deep engagement with ancestral craftsmanship, particularly the hand-weaving techniques of the Caucasus region. Gassanoff collaborates directly with women's artisan communities in Azerbaijan to preserve endangered crafts, translating traditional methods into modern, sculptural garments.
