Invicta was founded in 1837 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, by Raphael Picard with the goal of producing Swiss timepieces at accessible prices. For over a century, the brand built a reputation for its mechanical watches, even supplying the Soviet Navy Fleet in 1959. After facing decline during the quartz crisis, the brand was acquired in 1991 by a US-based group led by Eyal Lalo, a third-generation watchmaker who relocated the headquarters to Florida. This revival repositioned Invicta as a high-volume, mass-market presence known for its aggressive styling and marketing.
