Founded in 1989 in New York by Iranian-born architect Iradj Moini, the eponymous jewelry brand is celebrated for its maximalist, haute couture approach to costume jewelry. Moini, who fled the Iranian revolution and later designed runway jewelry for Oscar de la Renta, brings a distinct architectural sensibility to his creations. The brand is known for its large, three-dimensional statement pieces, including sculptural brooches, dramatic necklaces, and intricate earrings. Each piece is meticulously handmade in his Manhattan studio, utilizing a brass construct plated in 18-karat gold or platinum, and set with semi-precious stones like lapis lazuli, amethyst, and turquoise, alongside vintage Czech crystals.
