Founded in 2018 by industrial designer Karla López Rivera, Isleñas is a Puerto Rican footwear and accessories brand rooted in slow fashion and social impact. After gaining experience in the footwear industry in New York and Italy, López Rivera returned to San Juan with a mission to revive the island's needle industry. The brand operates on a small-batch and made-to-order model, training its team members in-house and partnering with local non-profits to provide economic autonomy for women.
