Issey Miyake Men was the primary menswear collection from the eponymous Japanese design house, launched in 1978. Rooted in founder Issey Miyake's philosophy of creating clothing from a single "piece of cloth," the line became celebrated for its fusion of avant-garde design and everyday functionality. The brand was a pioneer in material research, developing innovative textiles and its now-famous garment-pleating technique, where clothes are cut and sewn before being heat-pressed to create permanent pleats. This process resulted in architectural yet comfortable garments that allowed for freedom of movement and were easy to care for.
